Para Site is looking for highly motivated Event Assistants (temporary) to provide essential support for our upcoming Gala Fundraising Auction from 27 October to 23 November. Each year, Para Site hosts a Gala Fundraising Auction with generous support from artists, galleries, supporters, and friends from all over the world. The main platform for achieving our fundraising goals is the annual benefit auction, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a genuine difference to help us maintain the continuation and development of our world-leading programme. This year the annual Para Site Fundraising Gala auction & dinner will take place on Wednesday, 22 November 2023 and the auction preview will be on view a week prior from 15 to 21 November.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to acquire crucial work skills and first hand experience to better understand how a successful fundraising event is managed and organised.

Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support for the preparation of the events, working closely with the PS team on sourcing materials for decoration and set up, preparing event documents, liaising with vendors and engaging with other ad-hoc duties
- Assist in condition check of artworks
- Provide logistical support during the setup of the event
- Assist with on-site support during the opening hours such as opening and/or closing the preview presentation, artwork maintenance, escorting VIP guests, handling visitor enquiries, etc.
- Meet and greet visitors, direct visitor enquiries to the Para Site team
- Provide other administrative and operational support at Soho House with other duties as assigned
- Assist in event organisation such as venue decoration, set up, and closure, registration, and guest check-in at reception
- Handle guest enquiries and other ad hoc duties
- Provide support with capturing bidder information and tracking bidding results during the live auction
Requirements
- Tertiary education or above; university/college students are welcome to apply
- Fluent in English, Cantonese and/or Mandarin (preferred but not mandatory)
- Outgoing, presentable, personable, and proactive
- Good interpersonal, organizational skills, and sense of self-initiative
- Commitment to regular and punctual attendance
- Client facing experience in a dynamic environment, especially exhibitions or events, is preferable
Remarks
- Priority will be given to candidates who are available for the whole period from 8 to 22 November.
- Work hours normally range from 10am to 9:30pm, with overnight work required on the day of live auction & gala dinner
- All successful candidates must attend an in-person briefing session on 27 October (Fri).
