The Para Site internship programme offers individuals interested in the contemporary art industry an opportunity to participate in the practical day-to-day operations of a non-profit arts organisation located in Hong Kong. Interns assist the staff of Para Site, gaining first-hand experience in the mounting of exhibitions, event management for a variety of stakeholders, research for exhibition and development purposes, as well as educational projects. Hence, the internship provides a look into the structure and work of an independently run institution.
Para Site is Hong Kong’s leading contemporary art centre and one of the oldest and most active independent art institutions in Asia. It produces exhibitions, publications, as well as discursive and educational projects aimed at forging a critical understanding of local and international phenomena in art and society. Founded in early 1996 as an artist-run space, Para Site has grown into a contemporary art centre, engaged in a wide array of activities and collaborations with other art institutions, museums, and academic structures in Hong Kong and the international landscape.
Para Site internships are paid, part-time positions. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated interest in contemporary art, culture, and/or history. They should be currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programmes, or should be recent graduates.
Candidates are required to commit to a minimum of six months from June to December 2025, for at least three days per week including one day over the weekend, or the equivalent of 24 hours per week. Evening availability once or twice a month for events and programmes may be requested.
Please kindly note that we do not provide visa support for interns. Before you apply for the Para Site internship, we recommend that you become acquainted with the exhibitions organised by Para Site.
