On Sat 6 Nov, at 3pm, join us at Para Site for a live sharing session with artist Joyce Lung Yuet Ching, where she will discuss the evolution of her ceramic practice. Lung will also be sharing her knowledge of different ceramic styles and trends around the world, as well as the struggle she has experienced as a ceramic artist, among other topics. The session will be moderated by Para Site Curator Celia Ho in English. To celebrate Para Site’s 25th anniversary this year, we are hosting a special series of live sharing sessions with artists and collaborators to revisit Para Site’s role in the Hong Kong art scene as an independent exhibition-making space and its role for art practice and development. Stay tuned for information on future sessions.

Also join us for a guided tour of our current exhibition ‘Liquid Ground’ before the sharing session.

About Joyce:

Joyce Lung Yuet Ching was born and raised in Hong Kong. She graduated from School of Art Institute of Chicago with an MFA under ceramics department in 2019. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Hong Kong Baptist University Academy of Visual Arts in 2015 and won the AVA award. She has also an artist-in-residence at Pottery Workshop, Jingdezhen (2017); and Red Gate Gallery, Beijing (2016). Her work has been presented by galleries and art fairs in Hong Kong, the United States, Australia, Germany, Indonesia, and Malaysia. She feels a deep connection with clay due to its plasticity and potential. She is also interested in utilitarian objects, and she often incorporates domesticity in her ceramic making.
