Join Chan Ting, current artist-in-residence of Para Site’s 10/F annex, for two days of open studio on 20 and 21 January.

As a prelude to Chan’s upcoming exhibition (27 January–8 February 2024), the open studio is an experiment to look beyond traditional exhibition models by allowing the audience to witness the artist’s work in progress, as well as experience the physical transformation of an exhibition space in real time. 

Since the start of their residency in November 2023, Chan has been collecting abandoned and disused material around Quarry Bay, the neighbourhood of Para Site. During the open studio, the audience can observe Chan’s intervention in the space. In preparation for the exhibition, the space will be converted into a ‘cabinet of curiosities’ through a semi-improvised process of repurposing and collaging collected objects, text, imagery, and sound.

During the open studio, the artist will lead a studio tour when they will share their experience during the residency. More details on the exhibition will be announced soon.
