The talk hopes to discuss and exchange the different ways tactical media are used by artists in different countries regarding the various tactics of censorship and control systems. Tactical media can be traced back to the 60s, the age of widespread social and political movements in the West. With the collapse of the Berlin Wall, the formation of the Internet and later, the rise of social media, came the shift in the relationship between the control system and activism. In this discussion, we shall go through and reflect the use of tactical media in the art throughout the years in our region, including but not limited to the history, development, advantages and limitation of it within and outside of the art ecosystem.

The talk will be in English.
