Para Site is pleased to announce the 2024 Workshops for Emerging Arts Professionals, alongside a one-day Public Sharing event which will take place in late September 2024. In its seventh edition, we will work with a group of emerging curators, writers, critics, researchers, and other arts professionals from Hong Kong and beyond, through a series of closed-door workshops, roundtable discussions, and field trips.
The 8-day intensive programme provides participants with a forum for problem-solving, collective learning, and to reflect on the evolving challenges of practices dedicated to positive structural change in the field of contemporary art. Participants will engage in a reflective process that challenges them to reconsider their daily practice through intersectional perspectives, developing new commitments that promote meaningful, sustainable change within the environments they inhabit. By connecting practices and perspectives from various localities, the program aims to serve as a catalyst for change, offering new paths for exploration and engagement that can help navigate the intricacies and challenges of cultural work.
This program signals Para Site’s commitment to creating a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable art ecosystem. With generous support from S. H. Ho Foundation, Para Site will offer a limited number of scholarships to support the participation of emerging arts professionals with long-term vision from local art ecologies across the Asia-Pacific region.
