Location

To kick off the year-long celebrations of its 25th anniversary, 25+25, Para Site is delighted to present a retrospective display at the Para Site booth at Art Basel Hong Kong from 19 to 23 May 2021. Telling the story of Para Site’s quarter-century journey, the 25 artworks selected for this special presentation were all part of past exhibitions and will appear in the form of documentations with information on the context of their previous iteration at Para Site.

Since its founding in 1996, Para Site has not only been a safe testing ground for young artists and curators, but also a place for memory, inquiry, ideas, community, and education. Evolving over the last 25 years alongside the transformation of the Hong Kong arts community, Para Site has engaged in a wide range of activities and collaborations with various institutions both locally and internationally, and remains committed to its initial mission of critically reflecting the arts and society of Hong Kong. The selection of 25 artworks and projects spans the last two and a half decades of Para Site programmes, historical contexts, artistic mediums, and social concerns, zooming in on what lies at the core and foundation of the organisation.

Admission to Art Basel Hong Kong is required to visit the Para Site booth, located at Art  Basel Hong Kong, Level 1 Concourse, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Wan Chai.

Para Site is a Cultural Partner of Art Basel Hong Kong.
