During this edition of PS Paid Studio Visit, we will visit artist Ocean Leung at ACO Artspace, where his new solo exhibition, “Fleshed Out Nails”, will be on view 7-27 Sep at ACO Artspace.

Ocean Leung’s art practices observe and intervene through street drifting. Sometimes he works with found images and ready-made objects, so as to explore the interplay between art and its plights. The result appears in the form of object, installation, and video, exhibited to accumulate a visual disruption.

Recent exhibitions include “Borrowed Scenery” (Cattle Depot, 2019), “Café do Brasil” (Para Site, 2019) “From Ocean to Horizon” (Centre for Chinese Contemporary art, Manchester, 2017) “SOIL AND STONES, SOULS AND SONGS” (Museum of Contemporary Art and Design, Manila, 2016) and “No Cause for Alarm” (La MaMa Galleria, New York, 2016). Solo Exhibitions included “Roll up the vibrant breeze” (Gallery Exit, 2016), “A Response to an intervention” (Things that can happen, 2016) and “tasteless noises” (Cheng Ming Building, New Asia College, 2015). He co-curated the exhibition “No Neverland” (Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre, 2017), “Any Other Business” (The Office, 2017), community based art project “Yau Ma Tei Self-Rescue Project” (Wooferten, 2012) and “P-at-Riot: June-Fourth Festival for Post-80s generation”. He is also the producer of two independent documentary movies “Open Road After Harvest” (Hong Kong, 2015) and “The Way of Paddy” (Hong Kong, 2013).

Born in 1983, currently living in Hong Kong, Ocean graduated from the Department of Fine Arts (BA), The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2006, and obtained a Master of Fine Arts degree (MFA) in 2016 from the same university.
