Wong Cho Yi Jil was born in mainland China and moved to Hong Kong in 2007. She graduated with an Associate Degree in Visual Arts at Hong Kong Baptist University in 2022. She was part of the Professional Physical Theatre Youth Training Programme in Tang Shu-wing Theatre Studio from 2017 to 2019, when she began to explore the relationship between the body and the self. She has participated in ‘As Such: A Photographic Study Exhibition’ at Hong Kong Fringe Club in 2021. She was selected for the ‘Fringe Club 40 Years Exhibition’ at Hong Kong Fringe Club in 2022. Photography being her primary medium, Wong is interested in the relationship between art and the self, with personal growth, trauma, existence, and the self being recurrent subjects. The ultimate goal of Wong’s practice is to trace back to the origin of the self. Currently, she is exploring the possibilities within different mediums as a way to reveal and reconnect with the inner self.
