Justine, who has been a vegetarian her whole life, begins her first semester at a veterinary school, the one her older sister Alexia is also attending and where her parents graduated from. A freshman at the school, she experiences a bizarre initiation ceremony and the taste of flesh and blood for the first time. The difficulties with friends, family and sexual relationship all emerge as this sixteen-year-old teenage girl starts to find out who she really is.
