On Sunday 9 August, join us for an artist sharing by River Lin on My Body is a Para Site.

How can a living body embody an institution? What shifts when that body moves beyond it? This chapter marks a pivotal shift in Lin’s ongoing My Body is… series: after taking over museums, a library and a university, My Body is a Para Site breaks through institutional walls for the first time, traversing across the city.

Lin will trace how his practice shifted from unsettling the choreography of institutional spaces—their routines and established agendas—to that of everyday life in public space, through the agency of the body. Rather than recounting the weeklong’s interventions, we will dive into the stakes: who is allowed access to particular places, and how bodies transform space. Join us to explore what it means for an institution to be a presence rather than a physical site: wherever the artist stands, wherever we gather, wherever new relationships form.

The artist sharing will be moderated by Celia Ho and Jessie Kwok, co-curators of the programme Elsewhere in Me, and will be conducted in English.
