Out with the old and in with the new. Throughout history, countless people have made sacrifices to become an artist or art worker. When the new generation starts questioning labour conditions and fight for their rights, does that simply mean they’re being spoiled? When you start doubting your career in art, how about reflecting upon art history in Hong Kong and its causes and effects. Wong Ka Ying and Mak2 are both grateful for their artistic journeys, and now that they are older and wiser, they’ve decided to join forces with industry colleagues and the public in a game of Pictionary.

The rules

Two rounds including a qualifying and a final round. A member from each team will hint at the answer by drawing while the other team members try to guess the answer. The answers are all closely associated with the arts and culture sector, such as labour, funding, and copyright. The hosts will share their personal experiences with some of the topics in the game.

The teams

Individual and group sign-ups welcome. However, the teams will be randomly assigned on the day of the competition, with players representing artists, art workers, and the public.

The prizes

The top three teams will receive a prize.

Please note that the teams will be randomly assigned depending on the number of players signed up. Please sign up using the Google form here by Wed 26 Oct 2022. A confirmation email will be sent after sign-up. The game will be conducted in Cantonese.
