This library display showcases the diverse practices and research interests of Wanwu Practice Group, a collective of artists and researchers committed to cultivating deeper connections with the more-than-human beings on Earth. Inspired by the concept of ‘wanwu’ which emphasises multiplicity and interconnectivity, the inquiries among the members serve as starting points for reflections and encourage visitors to engage with the complex relationships that shape the ecological landscape. We invite you to explore the publications, zines, printed matter and other resources presented in the 10/F space.

The collective Wanwu Map displayed on the wall serves as an open space for collaboration and sharing experiences beyond the gatherings and activities of the Alternative School. The map offers a counter-hegemonic and expansive perspective on the research of the group, in dialogue with the geographies and ecologies illuminated by the public. It presents myriad species and places of ecological richness and vulnerability, inviting visitors to actively contribute their insights and participate in creating a more habitable planet for all beings.

On 15 Sept at 6pm, the Wanwu Library Open Day, join us for a conversation with members of the group as they introduce the library and discuss the creation and ongoing participation of the Wanwu Map.

Members of the Wanwu Practice Group will be present in the 10/F space throughout the period:

About Wanwu Practice Group

We are a group of artists-researchers learning to live on Earth and contribute to its vibrancy. Inspired by wanwu myriad happenings—we value both knowing and practice. We draw on Indigenous wisdom, activist experiences, ecological research, and theoretical reflections. Based in and out of the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong, we focus on art and ecology in East Asia.
